Robotic End Effector

Directions:

  1. Download the Problem Solving Packet must be complete by the team
  2. Define the words in the research area of the packet in your own words as it related to the project
  3. Research what a robotic end effector is and how it works (Google, How Stuff Works, Robotic Research)
  4. Sketches of 4 different design (get them approved)
  5. Draft a set of plans (Green paper, straight lines and T-squares)
  6. Get it all approved by Mr. Bishopp
  7. Build it….
  8. Test it…
  9. To reserve a grade for the project you must complete and submit the write-up.

Problem Statement

We need to design, construct, test, and perfect a Robotic End Effector that will capture a number of Ping Pong balls and move them to a different area in a five minute time frame. The Robotic End Effector must be of safe design and operation and may only be moved by the given hydraulic system.
Constraints
  1. Five minute time
  2. Must be of safe design and operation
  3. May only be moved by the given hydraulic system
  4. May only be operated by 3 people
  5. May not alter or harm ping pong ball
  6. All judgement are final
  7. Must be painted
  8. Other constraints as added by the Instructor
  9. End Effector must attach to 1/4″ -20 bolt on the arm
  10. The “Wrist” needs to be 2″ in width
Given Materials:
  1. 36″ x 4″ x3/4″ Foam
  2. 10 cc syringe
  3. Associated Hardware
