Trebuchet 

Problem Statement:

    You need to research, design, construct, and perfect a trebuchet to throw a marshmallow projectile the furthest distance. The trebuchet must be of safe design and operation and be no greater then 24″ height.

Constraints:
1. Must be of safe design and operation
2. With the arm standing up the entire trebuchet should fit in  box that is 24″ x 8″ x 24″
3. Must be a trebuchet
4. Counterweight may not exceed 2.2 lbs (3 3/4″ x 4″ x 4 1/2″)
5. Must have a non-destructive mechanical trigger system
6. Must use a sling as the carrying mechanism
7. Wood for frame will be 3/4″ x 3/4″
Procedure:

Research what a trebuchet is and how it works

Do Research and fill out the Vocabulary

Sketches of 3 different design (get them approved)

Draft a set of plans (Green paper, straight lines and T-squares)
Get it all approved by Mr. Bishopp
Build it….
Test it…
To reserve a grade for the project you must complete and submit the write-up.
